Those of you about to leave college and enter the real world should be thinking about which roles are best suited. There are so many jobs out there that it can be difficult to know where to set your sights. People who enjoy working outdoors have a huge variety of choice when it comes to finding the ideal employment solution. However, there are a number of factors you may wish to consider. For instance, selecting something you enjoy comes second to picking something with adequate wages. You just need to find the right balance. If it makes you feel any better, the vast majority of working age people never stumble upon the perfect job. Even so, there is no reason you have to follow suit. Just do some research!
Construction Work
If you have a fit and healthy body, you might like to consider the possibility of seeking construction work. There are many benefits to selecting a construction role, and most of them relate to the skills you will gain. Some employers might even send you to a heavy equipment operator training school if they think you have potential. While you will have to start as a laborer and work your way up, wages are very generous in most instances. The average new member of any construction team can expect to earn around $500 per week. Once you have some experience in the building trade, that amount could more than double. Just be aware that people with joint or back problems are not suited to that profession.
Tree Surgery
Do you enjoy spending your time learning about nature and how living things work? Then you might like to think about becoming a tree surgeon. Depending on your employer, wages could vary greatly. On average though, most people, who work in that role, earn more than enough to support their families. You just have to be willing to stand outside all day long, even in the worst of weather conditions. If there has been a breakout of disease in any woodland area, your efforts to contain the issue could make a significant difference. So, you will often work to tight schedules.
Doorstep Sales
While most people can think of nothing worse than knocking on doors and trying to sell a product, some of you will undoubtedly have the attributes needed to succeed. Doorstep selling won’t be your dream job, but it could make you a lot of money if you have the gift of the gab. Of course, very few people will need the items you’re trying to sell. However, it is you ability to make them think they do that determines how well you perform in that role.
If none of those outdoor working ideas appeal to you, it’s a good idea to start researching further as soon as possible. Nobody wants to see you fail, and sometimes you have to accept less than perfect roles to see you though. Just do your best, and we’re confident you will discover something enjoyable at some point soon.
